The question we get asked with some regularity is, should a rug be in front of or under the sofa? Let's put it this way, nothing in this is wrong. But we do recommend putting a rug a little under the sofa, a rug then creates a whole. The moment you place the rug in front of the sofa, small islands are created. There's nothing wrong with this if you like it, but it's nicer to make a room a whole and we do that by placing the rug a little bit under the sofa.
